I have a tattoo on the underside of my wrist.
It hurt but only what is expected!
I have tattoos on my lower back, back of my ribs, ankle and more but the wrist was probably the non worst if that makes sense…
if the name is too big i'd say get it written around your wrist – like a bracelet.
It's very nice when done but pick a nice font for it!

As somebody already said you shouldn't base your decision on pain. It's going to hurt wherever you get it, so you might as well get it where you really want it. It's hard for anyone to tell you where hurts the most because it's different for different people. Personally, the inside of the wrist didn't feel any different to the outside of the wrist to me.

Cost is completely dependent on the shop, but for small script on your wrist you would probably be looking at anywhere between $50 and $150.

The size of your wrist could matter because you won't be able to get the script TOO small, otherwise it will blur out over time and end up looking like a messy blob of ink. But that is something you will need to talk to the tattoo artist about.

It definately depends on where you are, most tattoos of that scale will be quite expensive.

My personal preference would to get it on the nderneath part of your arm, not on top. It hurts worse on top since there is not much fat on it, and bony. But that's my opinion. Definately get it where YOU want it, it will be ther for life!!

Cost wise I got luck, lol. Most of mine were free, sine i know everyone here that does then and the owners of shops. Also doesnt help my brother owns one, heheheh

I would say it will cost about $100-200 (it would around here) depending on colors, size, etc. All depends on how fancy ya wnat it.

Just remember it will always be there!! So choose where you want it and how you want it carefully.

i reputable shop will charge you by the hour, not by what it is..the going rate these days is about $100 an hour and it is worth it to go somewhere that charges by the hour…you may compromise the quality of work by going elsewhere..

also, the lesser the amount of fat on the body part the more pain that is involved…you could always run the name across both wrists, so that you have to put it together to read it..a nice cursive script would be beautiful for your sons name..good luck

if i were you i wouldnt get a tattoo. Its more of chance that you will get ink poising but do what you want.

A tattoo on your wrist is going to be really painful. Tattoos are most painful on bony parts of the body and least painful on muscle/fleshy parts of the body. I have one on my back shoulder and it didn't hurt all that much except when he went over my shoulder blade.

But, if you really want it you should go for it… good luck

i got it on my shoulder on my back. its about 6-7 inches long and probably about 4-5 inches wide. only felt like a cat scratching or a safety pin. (my tattoo is obviously centered not the way it shows it on here).
it cost me 100 plus the tip so a total of 132

cost is going to vary by shop and letter style and color and size-not sure which would hurt more but i would get it on the bottom, i always like that spot plus easier to hide if need be! you could always get his name tatted like a bracelet and go all the way around? pain is one of thoes funny things…hurts some more than others in same place….good luck-go to a few local artists and speak to them and go with the one you like most-check out thier art and ability to do letters-each artist has their speciality!

Tattoos hurt the least on the fattiest parts of your body. I have some kanji going down my back… some of it didn't hurt in the slightest, where as the parts of skin that is thinner on the back of my ribs smarted.

I just wanted to say that you shouldnt get tattoos based on where hurts the least. The pain is only temporary but a tattoo is permanant. You should chose a place you want it, and where it works best on your body. Even if it hurts more than other places.
